Life behind bars explored in a new movie ‘ Welcome to Maula Prison’
The Malawi Film industry is set to release a premier of the ‘ Welcome to Maula Prison ‘ movie this May. From the producers of ‘School Days Movie’, they have also produced this upcoming movie with some of the characters that were in the old movie for instance Phwedo, Kendal and Machira.
The film, powered by Universal Service Fund, will premiere early in the first week of May, starting off with Lilongwe at Bingu International Conference Center ( BICC) on 2 May, then Blantyre at Mount Soche Hotel on 3 May and Finally in Mzuzu at Chisanga Complex on 4 May as the last day. The tickets are being sold at www.pamsikaonline.com or on Airtel money by dialing *211# then selecting on 8 e-ticket.
After 14 years of FAMAs existence without an office, Dorothy Shonga the President for film association of Malawi, is inviting all the members of FAMA and the general public to this remarkable mile stone. The Film Association of Malawi, aim to celebrate the official opening of their office and the celebration of 100 days in the office. The date is scheduled to be on 17 April 2025 at 2:30 in the Afternoon. It will take place in Area 3 opposite to Lilongwe hotel, next to Noble Restaurant.
From the movie trailer that was released a week ago by their producers 4kaya film production, it has significantly captured alot of people’s attention and they are ready to support the crew. The feedback has been positive as Aubrey also commented that “Malawi Movie industry to the world very impressive and super proud . The future belong to Malawian movie industry . How do we support this ?”. By gaining such support from the viewers it shows that the film industry is growing and much should be invested in it to keep on producing good films.
