There has been social media mayhem between Ghanaian musicians Shatta Wale Vs Stonebwoy for the past week. The Beef started as Grammy organizers “The Recording Academy” in an article published about Ghanaian music, recognized Root Eye, Samini and Shatta Wale as pioneers of dancehall music in Ghana.
Stonebwoy seemed unhappy following this report from Grammy organizers, that has not given him recognition for his contribution to Ghanaian music. On his reaction through X formerly Twitter, Stonebwoy wrote..
“Whoever wrote this article is interestingly missing THE NAME @stonebwoy

Who ever wrote this article is interestingly missing THE NAME @stonebwoy

“How are you gonna demand a shoutout in a hiplife article when you didn’t even get the memo back then? Somebody needs to deflate this ego a bit—let’s give credit where it’s actually due! @stonebwoy, we need less ‘big head’ and more facts!”

Meanwhile the trolling went on with fans taking sides that, this story has shaken the African continent dancehall fraternity. Where Shatta Wale and his fans call Stonebway a reggae artist rather than a dancehall artist.
Meanwhile in the sudden turnout of events the artists have turned their beef into a big business opportunity, where Shatta took to Twitter asking his challenger Stonebwoy to meet him at the Accra Sports Stadium for a showdown to determine who truly reigns supreme in the dancehall scene. In a post shared on social media, Shatta Wale stated that if Stonebwoy refuses the challenge, he should be considered a reggae artiste rather than a dancehall one. In his post Shatta has asked the corporate society to jump in and support the event as they’re geared to end the battle once and for all.
I am issuing a formal challenge to @stonebwoy and his fans to meet me at the Accra Sports Stadium to resolve the ‘Dancehall King’ title dispute. If he and his fans decline this invitation, he should refrain from identifying as a Dancehall artiste, as I consider him a Reggae… pic.twitter.com/wZASwKlvep
