Singer and songwriter Tay Grin is currently carrying a heavy Burden as his room was recently caught on fire resulting into the loss of most of his property. The incident took place on 3rd March 2025. According to him, the fire broke out just a few minutes after he left the room, this resulted into his room being reduced to ashes, thereby losing most of his belongings. According to Grin the fact that his life has been spared during the incident, is e

nough reason for him to celebrate.

Meanwhile since the incident occurred, Grin has seen most of his friends, Corporate Society and country’s celebrities coming to his aid.

Since the incident took place, companies, individuals and the entire Malawi community is still showing support considering the fact that Grin has been in the industry for years.

Celebrities like Kell Kay , Lawi , Lulu, Gwamba, Temwa and Agide and others are already planning a music concert to bell out their fellow celebrity, from this dilemma.

This act of generosity has brought about public criticism accusing the event as a divide between the poor and the wealthy.
Online commentators like Davie Chirombo voiced out concerns that the support for a fellow celebrity is a pattern of aiding themselves only while those facing similar or even greater hardships are left to suffer by themselves.

Lawi writes on his Facebook page that the problems that the rich faces are also problems and that they are supposed to be helped.

As it stands, companies like Chibiso motors have already contributed to the fundraiser by buying tickets for all their employees. Among other quarters who have jumped in with support are, “Prime Time” who have donated over 2 Million Malawi Kwacha , Vehicles and fuel to help in preparation for the coming fundraiser, as far as logistics are concerned.

Just today the artist has also named his USA based friends DJ E Dub and Xander Manda for contributing an amount ranging to over 2 Million Malawi Kwacha.
