Pro. Muntharika and Sir Wicknell discuss floating solar and min hydro projects on Lake Malawi
Sir Wicknell a Zimbabwean billionaire managed to meet President Peter Arthur Muthalika.
One of the most richest Zimbabwean, Sir Wickenell, recently paid a visit to Malawi. Where he had a meeting with the president of the country Pro. Arthur Peter Muntharika. The two among other development projects discussed further into privatisation of the Malawi’s energy sector.
According to Sir Wickenell their discussions also taped into issues to do with Infrastructure development. On the energy sector, a proposition was put into place for a Floating Solar project and a Min Hydro Project on the Lake Malawi. As put by Sir Wickenell on his X page, lake Malawi has untapped potential of producing up to 1000 Megawatts of solar energy.
This idea would be more important looking at the current shortages in electricity that stems from lower production of power resulting into increased load shedding.
The Zimbabwean billionaire further encouraged the DPP administration to look into this proposition with urgency. Saying the Malawi Government needs to understand the importance of privitising the energy sector in order to accelerate this agendas.
