Dorothy sat in front of her laptop, fingers flying across the keyboard as she typed out a passionate message on her social media page. She was tired of the constant comparisons and assumptions people made about her and Temwa, her acquaintance.
It all started when Dorothy and Temwa had both moved on from past relationships – Dorothy from Shonga, and Temwa from Zeze. They had both found new paths and were focusing on their own journeys. However, it seemed like the world couldn’t help but draw parallels between their lives.
People would scrutinize every post Dorothy made, trying to decipher hidden meanings or connections to Temwa. They’d do the same with Temwa’s posts, searching for subtle digs or references to Dorothy. It was exhausting.
Dorothy had had enough. She wanted to make it clear that her life was her own, and her social media posts weren’t about anyone else. She stood for something bigger than petty comparisons – she stood for women empowerment and supporting mothers.
With conviction, Dorothy typed out her message, urging people to let her and Temwa breathe. “Life is a journey, not a competition,” she wrote. “Let’s focus on our own paths and support each other, rather than comparing and judging.”
As she hit post, Dorothy felt a sense of liberation. She hoped her words would resonate with others and bring an end to the unnecessary drama. She was ready to move forward, focusing on her values and passions, without the weight of other people’s expectations.
